"You know that heroic act that earned me that fancy medal? I don’t remember one second of it. The only reason I know what happened is from the report my captain filed with headquarters." ― Mr. Solway, pg. 96
Julius Solway is a man who enlisted to work in the army as a soldier in the Korean War. He received a Medal of Honor from President Truman for his work in the war.
Decades later, he now is a grumpy elder who lives in room 121 of the Graybeard Motel.
"Warrior"[]
Shoshanna had a video project but didn't know what subject she should use for it, so Chase suggested for her to interview Mr. Solway. From that project, Mr. Solway slowly started to open up to them, and he even had genuinely enjoyed their company, and they enjoyed his, so even after the project, they still visited him.
Personality[]
Mr. Solway may come off as rude at first. When he doesn't know someone, he usually responds to them in a gruff and sarcastic behavior. Deep down though, he is somewhat of a kindhearted person. His only good friends in the book are Chase Ambrose and Shoshanna Weber. Even when talking to his good friends, he is still mostly sarcastic.
